morning routine

I’ve been pretty consistent over the last year with my morning routine. Those two hours in the morning have become kind of like my most sacred time. And I’ve been keeping them consistently no matter where I am, which is sometimes hard because I’m traveling the world.

Lessons from this episode:

  1. How I lost My Morning Routine
  2. What Happened To Me Without My Morning Routine
  3. Following a Morning Routine is Not A Superpower

How I lost My Morning Routine

The thing is that these two weeks, I have fallen out of the wagon with my morning routine. And being as consistent as I always am, it has been quite shocking.

But, to be honest, over the last two weeks things have happened. Long story short, I was kind of kicked off an apartment, I went to San Francisco for an event, and now I’m recording this from Mexico.

There have also been a few personal issues that prevented me from doing things such as meditate and recording my podcasts. I couldn’t do stuff properly, and I lost my focus.

And that was terrible because being focused is kind of like one of my superpowers. I always know how to stay focused, but when I lost my morning routine, everything just lost control.

I normally follow a morning routine that’s composed of deep breathing, cold showers, meditation, and journaling.

You can find it here.

What Happened To Me Without My Morning Routine

Part of what has changed me and made me the person I am today is my morning routine. Without it, I couldn’t be a remote worker; I couldn’t have built my 7-figure business. Basically, it made me who I am now.

But when I didn’t do it, my day changed.

I was jumping through emails, reading my Slack, and checking my phone all the time. And that made me unproductive.

Keeping my daily routine greatly improves my consistency despite traveling often. My routine is a consistent element of my day and helps me stay focused even when my outside variables have changed.

My routine keeps me grounded when I travel a lot, keeping me productive rather than scattered. When I couldn’t complete my routine, I felt scattered, and it was a personal failure to me.

That’s why I recommend doing something every single morning. The mornings are the best moment because you can do something and start your day on the right foot.

Following a Morning Routine is Not A Superpower

For instance, meditation is one of my favorite activities because it grounds me a lot. and gets me super productive.

And I could swear I have been doing my routines consistently over the past few years. But when life happened over the past weeks, it made me inconsistent.

The good thing is that I could spot the differences in my behavior right away, making me realize how a routine changed me.

That’s why the only thing I can say is that you should start a morning routine ASAP.

It’s not only me who says it. In fact, many influential and successful people have routines.

They are not superhuman; they’re just very disciplined.

Habits make people. We all have 24 hours and using them right can make you successful. In my case, it took me two terrible weeks to see how powerful they really are.

Now things are starting to shape up. I’ve been getting enough sleep, meditating, and reigniting my routine and things look good again.

Regaining my mornings help me focus and become more productive, which allows me 10X my business.

It’s not very hard, but it takes consistency.

Last Words and Key Takeaways
