Today I want to talk about freedom, and I want to ask you: Are you free? Or at least feel freedom? Right now, are you experiencing a free life? Most people who watch this video, are in the Western world, they would probably say no. That’s how most of the society feels.

They feel they don’t have any freedom. Many probably have a 9-to-5 job, maybe a job that they hate. Maybe they can’t buy the car that they want, or maybe they can’t buy the house that they want. Maybe they can’t travel. Maybe they can’t afford some of the best clothing or some other things they want. Maybe they can’t go to expensive hotels.

Those are quick examples of some things that maybe you’re experiencing or maybe someone else you know is experiencing, and these make you feel a lack of freedom.

You feel that you’re caged. You’re not really free. You may think, “Oh my God, I have a 9-to-5 job, and I’m caged. I’m not really free. I’m a slave to the system.” It’s a feeling that many people feel. Even if you don’t have a 9-to-5 job but if you can’t really do some other things, maybe you don’t feel the freedom in your life.

I’m here to say that if you live in the Western world, which you probably are if you’re watching this video, you have so much more freedom that you don’t even realize and imagine that it’s ridiculous.

I’ll give you a few examples.

For one, you probably have an iPhone or any similar electronic smart device. Right now, I’m making this video from my iPhone. Through the iPhone, you have more computational power in this device than we ever had 100 years ago. This is in your hands, and almost every other person has this device. You can access information through Google by doing a quick search. Any kind of information you ever dreamed of is literally in the tips of your hands, and you can access it right now.

Right now, you actually have more access to information and more computational power than kings and emperors had centuries ago. Centuries ago, nobody had an iPhone or a smartphone. The king couldn’t just check whatever he wanted. He actually had very limited information. Probably, he relied on some of the spies or some other people to gather information. Right now, you have access to so many things. It’s ridiculous. Right now, you complain if something is not loading within 2 seconds when it was just almost 10 years ago when the iPhone came out in 2007, that 20 seconds of loading was just fine, only then did the revolution of this smartphone happened. Now, if something is not loading within two seconds, you think you have the worst device. It’s horrible.

Nearly half of the world population lives on less than $2 a day. Yes, let me repeat that. Nearly half of the population of the world lives on less than $2 a day. I’ve actually traveled to many poor countries, and I’ve seen it with my own eyes. Sometimes when you don’t travel and you don’t see it with your own eyes, you don’t understand. You think it’s easy to comprehend, but it’s not.

Really, there are many people who live on $2 a day, and it’s nearly half of the world’s population. It’s not some small percentage. It’s half of the world’s population. The Western world does not actually comprise most of the world’s population. Somehow people are living on $2 a day. And actually, 71% of the world’s population remains to earn a low income of less than $10 a day.

If you’re watching this video, you’re probably earning much more, and just a perspective, most of the world is living in poverty. You’re probably not. Yeah, maybe you can’t get the house you want or the car you want, maybe you have a 9-to-5 job, depending on where you are right now, but you’re not even remotely close to the situation where most of the world’s population is. You’re so much richer than them.

If you’re chasing freedom all the time, are you really free? I know this about myself: Freedom was a very important value for me, and I wanted to be free. I also was in a cage, and I wanted to be free. That’s why I started my online business, so I’ll have freedom so I can travel. And I started doing it. I traveled a lot, and I have been traveling for two years. And I felt true freedom. I felt like I was free. I was traveling. I had the freedom of money. I could be anywhere I wanted.

But the question again, if you are chasing freedom all the time, are you really free?

I came to the realization that true and real freedom starts in your mind. You have to realize that you’re already free right now. Actually, you already have all the freedom you want: freedom of information, freedom of movement, freedom of food, freedom to choose how your life will be. You have all those choices and all those freedoms in your hands. If you have it already and you have it here in your mind, you’re already free. There’s no need to chase anything, and you can experience this feeling of freedom because eventually, all you want is to feel free.

When I traveled to many countries, I saw many people who were very, very poor, and they literally earned $2 a day, maybe $5. They were very, very poor, but they were happy. They felt free. Some of them didn’t have high aspirations, but they really felt it. It could be seen. So why can’t it be the experience of someone from the Western world?

That’s why I’m saying true and real freedom starts in your mind, again, because it’s ridiculous how your life is so much better than the rest of the world. Usually, we don’t take the time to realize it, and when I realized that most of the world lived on $2 a day, I realized that I was so rich and I already had all the freedom I need.

Now, in my life, I experience freedom much more on a daily basis, and I feel it inside. And since I experience and feel it, I can go and do other things. It’s much easier, and I’m at ease. I’m still continuing traveling. I love it, but I don’t feel like I’m doing it in order to feel freedom.
