Be Creative! Develop Your Inner Creativity.

It is important to start developing your creative talents inside of you. I really believe we all have unique talents, and unique work we can bring to the world. One of the best ways to cultivate and make sure the best comes out of you – is developing your inner creativity. Every day.
When I was growing up, I thought I was the most uncreative person. I was horrible in arts, music, and anytime any ‘Creative’ solution was required, I was the last one to think of something. I was good in math, science and only good with linear thinking.
However, does that mean I am not creative? That I don’t have creativity in me? Bullshit. I don’t buy that. And if you were or are in my position, I invite you to re-look at the whole position and not buy into that. A few quick questions to evaluate the situation I invite you to ask:
- Am I really uncreative, or I was told by my peer group/society that I am not?
- Did I even try being creative?
- Is it just a belief that limits me from trying and taking action?
In my case, I realized that I was simply told by people around me that I am uncreative. I simply accepted what I was told all my life, and that I am good with topics such as ‘Math’. (The fact my parents sent me to a dozen of math classes and only wanted me to learn math, had nothing to do with it I guess).
I realized I never tried being creative. I never tried writing anything, never even tried to paint something, or when creative solutions were required, I didn’t try to come up with ideas.
And those two experiences led me to a belief I was not creative. A few years ago, being introduced to personal development, I started developing courage, new beliefs and with time, just forcing myself to be creative, in any situation possible. From simple things, to business things.
Traveling around the world certainly helped – Creativity is required everywhere. Every time you are stuck in a place when there is a language or culture barrier. When someone screws you over as a tourist.
The more I practised, the better I became. Practice is the key! You become better at anything you practise, and I firmly believe creativity falls into this category as well. And the beautiful thing about creativity, it is a meta-skill you can apply to anything to improve anything in your life: From your business, your relationship, your day to day life, and happiness.
Am I the most creative person in the world? The furthest. I don’t think I am even getting remotely close to the world’s best.
However, I am probably 100x better than I was a few years ago. From completely shy and un-creative, I am considered very creative by my close peers right now. I just wish someone would have told me that I am creative when I was growing up. That I have more than me then I think. That I can decide if I am creative, and practise it. Practice, practice, and keep practicing. Creativity will come. Doesn’t matter who you are, and what you do. I believe we all have it!
