Invest in Yourself

The greatest investment you will ever make is in yourself. Don’t invest in the stock market, if you haven’t first invested in yourself. I find it to be so true. Why not listen to the wealthiest person in the world Warren Buffet & the legendary Jim Rohn with two great quotes about this:

“Invest in as much of yourself as you can, you are your own biggest asset by far.” – Warren Buffett
“Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune.” – Jim Rohn

Successful people always invest in themselves first. This can come in the form of a seminar they go to, audio books or books they purchase, a coach the hire, they always do something to feed their mind and grow themselves, to put themselves in an environment where you can be challenged with people better than you. Unsuccessful people, look at the amounts of money you spend on seminars, and go nuts, having in their mind that they are being robbed, or overspending on something that is not needed. That is why successful people are successful, and the unsuccessful remain that way, it’s their psychology.

This is a well and good reminder to myself as well as to everybody else reading this, perhaps, to keep investing in yourself. Not to relax on that front. For a while, I have invested in myself even when I didn’t have the money because I knew I am my biggest asset. I remember spending $10,000 to attend Tony Robbins Mastery University (Excluding flights & accomodation & food), when frankly, I didn’t even have the $10,000 in my bank account! Looking back, I received 10x more than the money I spent, attending the seminars of the #1 coach in the world today. In the last year, I kinda stopped doing that, at least not as much as I used to, and I have decided to change that.

Here are a few events & activities I have already locked in for this year for myself for 2016, to make sure I keep investing in myself:

  • Having 1 on 1 coach. Coaches are so valuable. I don’t want to move or do things without a coach, it’s such a waste of time and money well spent. I personally use Tony Robbins coaching, as I am a big fan of his work, and the coaches that work for his company are just amazing and help me a lot with my goals.
  • David Wolfe retreat: I’ll be attending David Wolfe’s retreat in Hawaii, towards the end of the year. David Wolfe is a huge inspiration for me in terms of health, and what a great way to spend the new years, putting yourself in proximity with such people.
  • MovNat 2 Day Workshop: A great workshop where I can improve my body and the way it moves (Investing in yourself doesn’t have to be purely for money or business. Your body and health are your greatest assets, too). Will be attending this one in Paris, June, this year.
  • Tony Robbins, Date With Destiny: It is an event I already attended 1.5 years ago, but I’ll either attend it again, or be part of the crew member. It will be towards December, this year.

Other than this, I am looking to attend a real-estate course, and will lock up, hopefully, many more events through the year, or books\coaches, to invest in myself.

5 Minute Action Steps: Decide to invest in yourself today! Buy a book, an audiobook, go to some local seminar, do something that can help you grow.
